Quality Technician - 3rd Shift

Basic qualifications are:Must be 18 years oldPossess a high school diploma or equivalent and/or A.S/B.S in Quality, Engineering or BusinessMust be authorized to work in the USThree (3) to five (5) years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering & Quality ControlKnowledge of Quality Control, Quality Auditing, manufacturing processes and equipment, statistical process control, ISO and AS specification requirements, Metallurgy/Metals Manufacturing, Aerospace quality systems/standards i.e. GE, Nadcap, Pratt & Whitney, Rolls Royce, FAI, FMEA Manufacturing processes, Quality Control, Quality Auditing, and/or clericalAvailable to work any shift, weekends, holidays and overtime as requiredWilling to adhere to all safety rules and regulations, including all PPE requirementsMust be able to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background checkEssential job functions are:Have an understanding of the Haynes Quality System and LaPorte Custom Metal Processing requirements, the basic ISO, NADCAP, and AS requirements, and basic product and process flows to enable daily support of our quality objectivesPerform internal audits as directed by the lead auditorWork as directed on customer return samples for investigation of root cause of the defectsAssist as directed on external and customer auditsWork to ensure NCRs have adequate resolution and provide follow-up as directedUtilize internal procedures and systems to monitor processes for off quality trends and initiate corrective actionsProvide the Quality Engineering department with support as necessary to meet Quality System requirements involved with special quality, customer samples, customer special requests, and customer audits/plant toursInitiate NCM's on nonconforming materialEffectively monitor, document, and report status, activity, and progress in area of responsibilityProvide required input into the monthly report in a timely mannerParticipate on assigned Quality Assurance & Quality Engineering projects to insure yearly commitments are met.Physical Demands:May be required to stand for long periods of timeMay involve some repetitive motionsMay also engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and part containersDue to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and coldRequirements:Understand and follow basic verbal and written instructionsPossess basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and divisionPerform basic visual quality inspections on productsUtilize power tools and various equipment as needed to perform dutiesMust be certified or become certified in operation of forklifts and overhead cranesWe offer a competitive salary and benefits package including 401(k) with some employer match, medical, dental, vision, prescription drug, basic life insurance, paid vacation and holiday package.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
