Founded in 1964, the company serves general aviation, business and commercial aviation, advanced air mobility, defense, and special mission markets.About the RoleThe Software Certification Engineer will provide engineering and technical support for the evaluation, testing, verification, and certification of avionics, power electronics, and battery systems. The role focuses on implementing RTCA DO-178C and DO-254 lifecycle processes and verifying complex microcontroller and FPGA designs for safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate and review design data throughout the software qualification lifecycle.Develop plans, requirements, design standards, coding standards, and verification documentation.Test and troubleshoot prototype and certified software on target hardware in a laboratory environment.Design embedded software for microcontroller-based systems and PC-based applications.Support software development using current tools, development environments, and documentation methods.Develop and execute test programs to verify performance, regulatory, and quality requirements.Perform functional and structural verification of safety-critical software systems.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or a related field.Minimum 1 year of experience with RTCA DO-178C or a similar safety-critical software development process.Proficiency in C programming.Ability to work directly with target hardware and laboratory test equipment.Proficiency with Microsoft Office.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and prioritization abilities.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience with C# or Python for PC application software.Familiarity with VHDL and RTCA DO-254.Familiarity with formal coding standards and safety-critical design practices.Compensation & BenefitsThe position offers USD $70,000–$110,000 per year, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
