Director Email Marketing - Hybrid from NY or WI

Job DetailsDescription*This is a hybrid role with three weeks per month onsite (Mon. – Thurs.). The fourth week is fully remote.The Email Marketing Director performs in a highly visible and cross-functional role, leading the Email Marketing Team which provides strategic marketing for the full lifecycle of email automation, user journey, compliance and other email services. The Email Marketing Director organizes and manages the day-to-day workflow of all customer communication and messaging in the email and SMS channels, acting as the liaison between the email marketing team, leadership and cross functional teams. Working directly with senior leadership, the Director acts as the thought leader in this space and will lead development of strategies, programs and initiatives meant to assist the organization in meeting its goals and objectives.Responsibilities Develop, lead and own the brand’s Email and SMS contact strategy including content, promotion planning and segmentation/personalization roadmap, data flows and email automationsActively lead and collaborate with all cross-functional partners including key stakeholders, ELT, business planning, merchandising, license partners, creative, Business Outfitter marketing, marketing operations, and consumer insights within Lands’ End to drive customer engagement and salesOversee email execution, collaborating closely with Business Planning, Creative, Product and Merchandising teams, ensuring flawless production and meeting/exceeding KPIs for the channelCoordinate with other channel leaders on integrated marketing planning for a season, key event or go to market strategyDefend and maintain a consistent brand message while balancing storytelling and commercial objectives throughout all marketing initiativesAnalyze customer data and market trends to inform segmentation, personalization, and targeted marketing campaignsProvide thought leadership in the areas of email / SMS contact strategy and marketing mix optimizationLead improving the productivity and effect of marketing planning and execution processes to drive a customer-first approachDevelop and manage associated operating budgets, review and recommend digital products and partners to supplement and evolve tech stack and improve customer journeyEnsure superior execution and effective control of marketing results and take corrective action to adjust marketing plans and activities to ensure future results meet or exceed forecastLead and mentor the email marketing team to support planning and execution of email and SMS monthly promotional calendarEvaluate market research, historical results, test results, and competitive intelligence to adjust marketing contact and customer segment strategies to meet changing market and competitive conditionsPartner closely with Consumer Insights to drive sales and optimizations through testingTrack performance and establish metrics as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or related field; MBA preferred7+ years in Email, Retention Marketing or CRM role supporting a multi-channel organization5+ years in leadership positions and 3 or more years marketing planning functional experienceExcellent communication skills with the ability to manage and communicate with a team of creative and technical professionalsA demonstrated history of simultaneously managing multiple programs and projects and able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, adapting quickly to changing deadlines and always flexible in shifting tasks to meet deliverablesProven track record of implementing successful retention strategies in retail or e-commerceStrong leadership and consensus building skills with the ability to develop successful business relationships and work at all levels of the organizationProficiency in CRM platforms and marketing automation toolsStrong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision makingStrong P&L orientation, well versed in drivers of marketing costs and impact on initiativeMust possess top-level business management, interpersonal, facilitation and communication skillsDemonstrated ability to analyze situations, develop and research alternatives and make customer-focused recommendationsComfort with ambiguity and change; able to make strong recommendations and decisions despite ambiguous situationsStrong project management skills; able to deliver consistent high-quality results on time and within budgetAbility to focus the organization on efforts that add significant valueAbility to direct the work of direct and indirect reports as well as cross-functional and cross–divisional partners The pay range for this position is $130,000 – $170,000. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to: relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographical location, and business or organizational needs. This position may also be eligible for annual merit increase, bonus, and/or incentive compensation.
