Position Summary: The Security Officer secures premises and personnel by patrolling property, and monitoring surveillance equipment, and access points. This role investigates security breaches, incidents, and other alarming behavior. The Security Officer is responsible for controlling vehicle/pedestrian traffic through the security gates and completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities. This position requires the individual to be armed and therefore must maintain a current Concealed Carry Permit.
Essential Job Functions (include but are not limited to):
Patrol assigned area check doors, windows, and gates to ensure the property is secure
Monitor surveillance cameras
Reasonably detains persons suspected of criminal and report suspicious activities to local authorities
Performs other related duties as assigned
Control visitor and employee building access
Immediately notice anything out of the ordinary
Protecting the people and assets within the organization or company
Spend long periods standing and observing what’s going on around them
Contribute to security team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Respond to emergency situations to provide necessary assistance to employees and customers
Follows all company policies and procedures
Complete and demonstrate a full understanding of ongoing training concepts and applications

Meet company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work-related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures.

Requirements:
Education/Skills/Experience:
High school diploma
Law Enforcement/Military or relevant experience is an asset
Concealed Carry Permit
Strong attention to detail, observational skills, and attention to detail
Strong interpersonal and customer contact skills
Strong written/verbal communication skills
Computer skills and aptitude; Microsoft Office preferred
Listening effectively when others are speaking
Manage Multiple Tasks
Ability to perform and retain various skill-related tasks, training, and operations
21 years of age (minimum)
Physical requirements:
Possess the ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 25 lbs.
Stand or sit for extended periods of time
Communicate both in person and by telephone
