The successful candidate will be Medicaid Business Subject Matter Expert (SME) with strong hands-on experience in MMIS, Encounter Processing System, and Data Warehouse. This role will report to the VP, Service Delivery. The ideal candidate will be motivated by the opportunity to support public agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private companies in transforming their data into actionable insights. Preference will be given to candidates able to work a hybrid schedule in our offices in DC or Richmond, VA.What You Will Do Analyze and document Medicaid business processes (provider enrollment, eligibility, claims, prior authorization, encounters, reporting)Interpret and apply CMS regulations, Medicaid state plan requirements, and federal guidance to ensure system compliance and operational accuracyCollaborate with development, data, and project teams to design, validate, and test system components and workflowsSupport end-to-end testing activities, including test planning, test case development, test execution, defect management, and reporting for both manual and automated testing efforts.Support the documentation process, including:Trading Partner Testing PlansSystem Integration PlansQuality Management PlansPerformance Testing PlansCompanion GuidesTest Summary Reports and ResultsConduct and facilitate requirements and testing sessions with stakeholders across policy, operations, compliance, and IT teamsCoordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure successful validation of Medicaid system functionality across releasesLeverage data analysis to validate business rules, identify anomalies, and support decision-makingProvide Business Analyst support to develop and enhance internal product developmentPerform other related duties as assignedRequired EducationBachelor's degree in business administration, science, or a related fieldRequired Experience15+ years of IT systems analysis, with a focus on healthcare systems and Medicaid processesExperience in the Encounter Processing System and MMISRequired SkillsSubject matter expertise in Medicaid business processes, systems, and regulationsStrong documentation and communication skillsPreferredExperience working on large-scale Medicaid transformation or modernization programs (e.g., MMIS replacement projects)Hands-on experience with Data Warehousing, ETL processes, and data modelingFamiliarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google CloudExperience with data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 or FHIRExperience with automated testing tools and frameworks.Prior experience in a Lead or Architect-level role overseeing cross-functional teams.Success at AmidaCommunication is the key to success at Amida.
