Product Development Engineering Manager

Manager, Product Development Engineering (Electro-Mechanical Products) Location: Onsite in Austin, TXOur client is seeking a Product Development Engineering Manager to join a fast-growing, innovative company addressing a multi-billion-dollar challenge. Demand for data services, including streaming, AI/ML, analytics, and IoT continues to rise, increasing the need for advanced computing infrastructure. Our client is developing next generation solutions to improve performance, efficiency, and sustainability across modern computing environments, including data centers and edge systems.This role leads cross-functional engineering efforts focused on complex electro-mechanical platforms. Responsibilities include system architecture, controls integration, and execution across hardware systems such as fluid systems, embedded controls, and mechanical assemblies.Day to Day: Lead system architecture and integration of advanced cooling platformsTranslate requirements into subsystem specifications across mechanical, electrical, firmware, and thermal teamsDefine controls strategy including sensors, pumps, flow/pressure control, safety interlocks, and diagnosticsDrive development from concept through validation and production releaseLead design reviews, risk assessments, and structured processesManage schedules, technical risks, and vendor coordinationEnsure reliability, safety compliance, and manufacturabilityPreferred Qualifications6+ years of engineering experience, including 2+ years leading hardware teamsExperience with electro-mechanical systems and integrated controlsStrong understanding of electronics and embedded systemsProven success delivering hardware products to productionExperience with advanced or refrigerant based cooling systemsKnowledge of pumps and control systemsFamiliarity with structured product development methodologies
