Field Service Technician III

Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesServe as a Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all technical areas of Field Services customer support. Providing technical and mechanical services support to all internal and external customers in settings such as workshops, compressor stations, process plants, etc. The incumbent is also expected to be an expert in the following:Core Competencies Conflict Resolution Advanced Problem-solving skills Proficient diagnostics – e.g., vibrations, emissions Advanced leadership & communications skills Able to lead / perform all startup / commissioning tasks Reciprocating Compression Products Subject Matter Expert (SME) Proficient at performing engine & compressor diagnostics and interpret collected data Present results to the customer in professional manner Included in Level IV are Advanced Technicians, Instrument Technicians, Diagnostic Technicians / Product Specialists with advanced education and time in service ≥ 15 years. These technicians are specialists / SME’s and should be trained as such. This level also includes…Commissioning Specialists – Seasoned veterans with expert knowledge in compressor drivers (engines & motors), process piping and valves, skid construction, controls, and customer communications (written & verbal). Must be familiar with GE Startup & Commissioning Standards and have the ability to start and operate the package. Travel 200-300 days per year anywhere from 2-14 weeks at a time. Work extended hours up to 10-14 hours per day including weekends/holidays, 6 – 7 days per week. A typical work week can be 60-84 hours. Ascend/descend ladders to examine equipment, position yourself to examine equipment including in confined spaces, move boxes weighing from 40 -50 pounds, work in outdoor weather conditions, walk long distances and share company vehicles with other employees at customer sites.
