Available positions at these current locations of Renton, WA; Wichita, KS; Salina, KS; and Sioux City, IA:Quality InspectorA&P MechanicAvionicsComposite MechanicEngine TechInterior MechanicFabricatorFuel Cell SealerMachinistMetal Hand FormingStructural MechanicQuality Inspector - Descriptions and RequirementsUse and interpret drawings, inspection manuals and specifications, shop mathematics precision measuring instruments, specialized inspection machines, tools and equipment necessary to accomplish work assignments Experience working with Quality Management System Policies and Procedures Working knowledge of Company Policies, Procedures and Specifications Overall working knowledge of production processes Good communication skills written and verbal Maintain certifications as required, prepare and maintain Quality records Follow Inspection (shop) procedures to accept or reject processes/parts/assemblies Verify that tools are qualified Work across equivalent or lower-level Inspector job codes as required Ability to obtain all required training certifications and maintain certifications while on assignment Available for periods of heavy overtime Good computing skills, Blueprint reading experience, MS Office, and SAP experience Preferred: SAP experience, Previous Spirit or Boeing experience, Boeing 737 Airframe/Fuselage Experience Inspector Testing Information: All inspectors regardless of direct or contract must obtain their stamp within a certain amount of days after their training. That is discussed during the initial training classes. Here is a list of the testing QA contractors are required to pass: Assy. Sealing (written and practical) Post Assy. Sealing (written and practical) Electrical Bond and Ground – All Meters (written) Electrical Bond Final Inspection (written and practical) Precision Measuring Tools (written and practical) Skin Quality Inspection (written) In addition, they have classes that are given to them that they are tested on and must pass: Researching and creating an NCR in MES Solid Rivet Inspection Blind Fastener Inspection Hex-Drive Bolt Inspection Lockbolt Inspection Bolt and Nut Inspection Fastener Inspection on Composites Structural Mechanics - Daily Responsibilities:Assembly/Installation structures and doors-assemble structural parts, assemblies, and skins to make larger assemblies. Pre-assemble, trim, fit, rig, seal, align, and adjust aircraft door systems.Sub Assembly-assemble parts to make subassemblies using templates, jigs, and fixturesSealer-Seal parts, assemblies and subassemblies fillet and Faye, apply leveling compound or Scotch cast etc.Assemble, install, seal, rig, inspect, and complete precision and other structural and system components, working from drawings, documents, process specifications, quality control requirements, and established processes and procedures. -Functional test and correct, fit form and function of assemblies and componentsInstall hi-lok, Rivets, Drill out rivets, Squeeze rivets common interior structure, Remove Hi-Lok, Perform cut and splices, Pull holes, Oversize holes, and Layout holes by hand.Metal Hand Forming - Descriptions and RequirementsFabricate components using associated tasks including deburr, bending, routing, forming, cutting, shearing, straightening, shrinking, bead, flare, flange, punching, countersinking, tapping, chamfering, pressure and leak test, part mark or similar tasks.Use hand, power tools & equipment to complete work assignment. Validate quality of tool(s) prior to setup, during & after job completion. Apply potting compound and sealer as required to complete the job.Work from blueprints, drawings, templates, and check fixtures, form blocks and written/verbal instructions.Self-inspection as required of performed task prior to next work sequence. Uses precision measuring equipment (calipers, scales, and etc.).Rework and repair defective products as required. Assist others in the execution of tasks as required.As required layout parts and patterns to facilitate associated operations (shear, route, saw, etc.) Setup, adjust, maintain and operate all equipment. Work may occasionally require soldering riveting. Use basic and advanced shop math.Perform routine minor machine maintenance as part of their daily work duties (e.g., replacing machine filters, maintaining lubrication/coolant levels, etc. as related to basic Total Preventative Maintenance duties).Routinely move product within shop-defined area, including across aisle, using shop assigned equipment as required, and complete transactions necessary to move product to the next operation.Performs verification of dimensions of parts using both mechanical and electronic precision measurement tools.Perform inspection MVP, including first part review of fabricated parts and assemblies. Initiate and document any non-conforming condition.Maintain required certifications and qualifications as needed. (e.g. SLS, BAC, Nadcap, AS9100, crane, sealer, liquid nitrogen, vehicle ops) Ensure compliance with applicable processes (e.g., FOD, Hazmat, OSHA, QMS)Support the continuous flow of product within the manufacturing process by training and assisting employees of the same or lower classification level.Able to capture, translate, validate or provide measurement data to meet engineering intent and top-level requirements using engineering and model-based definition drawings.4-5 years of hand form experience. Experience with stretch press, brake forms, bag press, and other skills involving bending of metal. Aerospace experience preferredConstruction industry working with metal could also be consideredAll applicants must be willing and able to work any shift, including alternative work weeks. Majority of new hires will be hired on 2nd shiftFuel Cell Sealer - Daily Responsibilities:Seal, fillet and fay, cap seal, brush coat, etc. for major assemblies, sub-assemblies, precision bench and integral fuel cell.Apply scotch cast, leveling compound, aerodynamic seal and pressure test, working from drawings, documents, process specifications,quality control requirements and established processes and procedures.The Company will provide appropriate assistance in job training to enable employees to perform all necessary job functions including thefollowing:Work with blueprints, changes, specifications, work orders, etc. sealing to quality requirements.Complete required data gathering transactions to facilitate all sealer progression.Perform any and all required pickup, rework, fabrication, change incorporation, functional testing or check during or after final seal and/or seal progression.Use measuring instruments as required to accomplish work assignmentsReport and/or investigate job handicaps such as: errors, assembly procedures, tools, sequences, etc.Support the continuous flow of product within the manufacturing process by training, coaching and assisting employees of all classification levels.Document any discrepancies according to specification, process, and procedure.Temporarily attach parts and or assemblies, install collars and other hardware not related to drilling or countersinking.Integral Fuel Cell Sealing - Apply sealing compounds to seal fuel cell and related wing section components.Additionally, the employee must have the skill and knowledge to perform one or more of the skills listed below, along with any lower-level sealant level described below:Sealer - Major Assembly / Large structure sealing / Aerodynamic sealTraining includes SEA092, SEA083, ASY050 and the standard online training.Training will take place in Wichita, KSA&P Mechanic - Daily Responsibilities:Troubleshoot, repair, install, inspect and perform maintenance on customer aircraftPerform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as requiredAdhere to company General Work Requirements for factory, shop and or hangar positionsComply with Environmental Health & Safety policies and procedures.Participate in 5-S activities.Perform all work in a safe and timely mannerOperate ground support equipment as requiredPerform mechanical / electrical removals and installationsAssist with maintenance at off-site locations as neededAssist other maintenance disciplines as neededAssist with fuel and/or de-fuel of aircraft as neededAssist with engine removal / installation as neededAssist with aircraft component repair as neededHow to thrive in this role?You have an Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificateYou typically have a minimum of 5 years' aircraft maintenance work experience or substantiated equivalent experienceYou have the ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawingsYou have the ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form on individual and/or aircraft statusYou have your own basic set of hand tools with the ability to demonstrate Inventory and control of toolsYou have the ability to obtain appropriate Ground Support Equipment (GSE) qualifications as requiredYou are able to work unscheduled overtime including nonscheduled work days and holidaysYou are able to work in seasonal/inclement weather outsideYou have the ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge (SIDA)You have experience on corporate jets (preferred)You have basic PC skillsPay Rate is based on location, and experience.Per-diem and Overtime depend on locations.Company DescriptionAt Astro Dynamic Group, our mission is to empower businesses by connecting them with top-tier talent who excel in their fields.
