QUALITY ENGINEER I
Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes the following along with other duties that may also be assigned.
* First point of contact for customer.
* Works independently or in a team environment on problem solving activities. Follows systematic problem-solving methodology: 5Why, 8D, and customer required forms etc.
* Develops, installs and evaluates process sampling systems, procedures and statistical techniques.
* Develops or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment.
* Analyzes production and service limitations and standards.
* Recommends revision of specifications as needed.
* Formulates or helps formulate policies and procedures specific to quality function.
* Must be available and willing to work overtime per day or per week as determined necessary to meet business needs.
* Travel to customers or suppliers.
* Currently trained and conducts training on department specific concepts, tools and testing equipment.
* Quantifies quality costs and develops P.O. when applicable.
* Interfaces with all other engineering components within the company and with customers and suppliers on quality specific issues.
* Prepare PPAP's, FMEA's, Control plans, 5P's or 8 D's (Responsible during launch, mass production and service.)
* Performs quality audits
* Daily reporting: internal activities: Quality Circle meeting, customer & plant issues, and customer driven reports
