This position is responsible for the inspection, testing, and verification of equipment and processes throughout our production floor. Rapid development of familiarity with Simplex product line is expected. Utilization of hand tools and test equipment will be required to perform work. This position requires knowledge of equipment manufacturer’s specifications and communication with the engineering department of problems relating to maintenance or operation of equipment. There is a high degree of pressure to meet deadlines with this position being a pre-test verification point in our production process. There is the need for the ability to communicate effectively with other departments as necessary.
Requirements:
Technical background equivalent to a two-year technical degree, and experience involving wiring (familiarity with 3-phase preferred)
Ability to distinguish between different wire colors including blue, green, red and black
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
Moderate computer skills including familiarity with MS Word, Outlook, Excel and Access
Problem solving skills and ability to work effectively under deadlines
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time
Understanding and familiarity with OSHA standards and guidelines including: LOTO, Hazardous Communication, PPE, etc.
Ability to operate various shop tools (including power and manually operated).
Must be able to communicate (read, write, and speak) the English language clearly
Duties:
Examining, testing, and repair of wiring, mechanical load, and equipment
Assist in writing work instructions and procedures as needed
Accurate and timely completion of inspection and inspection paperwork
Ability to follow all safety guidelines at all times
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
