Company Description:Thermal Techniques is a specialized thermal imaging services company providing infrared consulting for industrial, commercial, and mission-critical data center clients across the Southeast. The team performs electrical and mechanical inspections, moisture intrusion, R&D project support, and critical equipment inspections. Using a thermal Infrared camera, the company identifies abnormal thermal patterns that indicate potential faults, leaks, or damage before they cause costly failures. By helping customers “find tomorrow’s problems today,” Thermal Techniques improves facility uptime, optimizes maintenance planning, and reduces unplanned downtime and repair costs. The company is committed to delivering precise, actionable reports that support safe, efficient, and reliable operations.Role Description:This is a full-time Thermal Imaging Consultant role based in the Charlotte Metro Area. The Thermographer will perform infrared thermographic inspections of electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and/or roofing at commercial and industrial job sites. The role includes planning and executing the inspection, capturing and interpreting thermal images, and documenting findings in clear, detailed reports with actionable recommendations. The consultant will collaborate with client facility, maintenance, and engineering teams to explain identified issues, prioritize corrective actions, and support preventive maintenance strategies. Day-to-day activities outside of Inspection process also include completing administrative duties in a timely manner, finding new business, expense reporting, and travel arrangements etc. Some overnight travel is required but should be able to be planned accordingly. Qualifications:Thermal Imaging and diagnostics skills, including experience or strong interest in.Excellent communication skills with individuals at all levels, including maintenance staff, facility managers, and engineers.Solid Computer Skills needed especially with Report Writing Software, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.Familiarity with or willingness to learn infrared/thermal imaging principles, thermography standards, and condition-based maintenance practices. Training and knowledge-sharing skills, with the ability to explain technical findings to non-technical individuals and support client education.Comfort working in industrial and commercial environments, including adherence to safety protocols and use of appropriate PPE.· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the Charlotte Metro and broader Southeast region as needed. Some overnight work may be expected.Preferred: Thermal Imaging Certification or coursework in thermography, engineering, building sciences, or a related technical discipline.Someone who is eager to learn and willing to go the extra mile in a specialized field of work.
