We offer competitive wages and an excellent fringe benefit package.SummaryPrepares cost estimates for a variety of private and public projects with scopes of work including earthwork, concrete, and asphalt paving. For assigned projects, oversees all administrative and technical aspects of the bidding process.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Analyze contract documents, plans and specifications, and evaluate project work scopesDetermine overall project bid strategy with area managementAttend pre-bid meetings and conduct field checksAssist soliciting quotes to appropriate subcontractors and suppliersVerify necessary work quantities and prepare cost estimates for self-performed work, assigning appropriate resources and productivity ratesEvaluate design options and recommend alternative solutions or approaches as needed to secure workAnalyze subcontractor and supplier quotes and ensure scope coverageCreate and submit bid proposals as requiredNegotiate and secure contractsNegotiate and finalize all project subcontracts and purchase ordersMonitor daily job costs on ongoing projects and adjust estimating process as necessaryMaintain positive customer relationships and ensure customer satisfactionCompetencies Integrity and ethical conduct Team ability – prioritizing team success Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Strong initiative and ability to work independentlyPreferred Education And ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management or other relevant fieldThree or more years of experience in related fieldExperience with cost estimating/budgetingViewpoint, Bluebeam, and HCSS HeavyBid (or equivalent bidding software) experience a plusEqual Opportunity Employer – It is the policy of Rieth-Riley to assure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment, without regard to their veteran status, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, color, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, citizen status, and/or any other applicable legally-recognized protected class under local, state, or federal law.
