Temporary Crater/Packer

Job TitleResponsible for constructing, modifying, and maintaining wood and composite components such as crates, pallets, fixtures, and custom packaging. Works closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Service teams to ensure components meet production standards, quality requirements, and delivery timelines.Principal Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerforms hands-on carpentry work to support manufacturing operations, including measuring, cutting, assembling, and finishing wood and related materials.Builds, repairs, and modifies production-related items such as shipping crates, pallets, tooling supports, fixtures, and custom packaging solutions.Use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and efficiently in a production environment.Supports manufacturing cells by preparing standardized and custom-built components required for product assembly and shipment.Partners with Manufacturing support, Engineering, and Service teams to improve packaging design, durability, and efficiency while reducing waste and rework.Maintains clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with manufacturing and safety standards (5S principles)Complies with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements within the manufacturing facility.Communicate effectively with Production, Service, and Supply Chain personnel to meet operational priorities and customer requirements.Lifts and handles materials up to forty pounds as required to support fabrication and manufacturing tasks.Skills & QualificationsStrong understanding of precision measurement, layout, and assembly techniques in a manufacturing settingAbility to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, BOMs, and standard operating procedures.High diligence to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency of manufactured components.Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills related to fabrication and production support.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.Effective communication and people skills when collaborating with cross-functional teams.Completing overhead crane and power truck training (provided by the company)Willingness to work overtime/weekends as needed.Experience / Academic BackgroundMinimum of 5 years of experience in carpentry, fabrication, or manufacturing support rolesTechnical training in carpentry, manufacturing technology, or a related field preferredCompleting overhead crane and power truck training (provided by the company)Willingness to work overtime/weekends as needed.Compensation InformationThis position has a starting hourly rate of $26-28 an hour.
