Job Description – Union IT Infrastructure Installation EngineerPosition: Union IT Infrastructure Installation EngineerLocation: Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10022Type: Union Labor RequirementRole OverviewThe Union IT Infrastructure Installation Engineer will be responsible for the delivery, installation, and commissioning of Vertiv infrastructure equipment, including racks, PDUs, cooling systems, UPS & batteries, environmental monitoring, and network surveillance systems at the customer site. All work must be performed by certified Union Labor, adhering to New York labor laws, building codes, and site-specific union regulations.Key Responsibilities1. Equipment Installation (Union Labor Executed)Rack SystemsUnpack, assemble, and install 8x VR3300 racks.Install PDUs (VP7N30AW) and mount/configure RDUs (VP0N6200).Install cable management accessories (VRA1004, VRA1005, VRA1014, VRA1022, VRA8561).Cooling SystemsPosition and connect 2x Liebert CRV CR019RW units.Configure CRV controls and sensors.UPS & BatteriesInstall and rack-mount 2x GXT5-20KVA UPS units.Connect 8x External Battery Cabinets (EBC288VRT4U).Install and configure PD2-104 distribution pods.Connect VMBC-20KVA maintenance bypass cabinets.Install SN-TH environmental sensors.Initiate factory-authorized startup services (PAPGXT15-20K, PAPGXT-BATT).Environmental Monitoring SystemInstall and configure ENVA-SERVER software on customer hardware.Apply licenses (ENVA-DEV-25, ENVA-SERVER).Connect/test sensors.Validate setup with ENVA-BSC-STUP startup service.2. Network Cameras & Recorder InstallationUnpack, mount, and connect indoor/outdoor IP cameras (union technician support required for mounting/wiring).Route and terminate cabling to switches/patch panels with PoE/local power.Install/configure the NVR and storage devices.Verify live view, playback, and recording; adjust focus/positioning.Provide account setup, basic user configuration, and on-site operation training.3. General ResponsibilitiesAll installation, cabling, rigging, and handling work must be executed by certified Union Labor.Provide all required accessories, consumables, and tools (cables, mounting hardware, cable ties, Velcro straps, protective coverings, labeling, handling equipment, etc.).Ensure compliance with union work rules, safety standards, and site-specific requirements.Maintain documentation of installation, configuration, and test results.QualificationsExperience in IT infrastructure deployment (UPS, racks, cooling, surveillance systems).Hands-on expertise with Vertiv or equivalent critical infrastructure.Familiarity with New York Union Labor work rules and compliance requirements.Strong knowledge of cabling, power distribution, and equipment handling.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to collaborate with both customer teams and union representatives on-site.Additional Cost Components (to be Quoted Separately)Removal of existing IT cabinets – De-install, safely remove, and dispose of current cabinets as per union regulations and building codes.UPS System (including batteries & enclosure) – Supply, install, and commission a replacement UPS with appropriate capacity, batteries, and enclosure.Protection for existing wall-mounted equipment – Provide protective shielding, coverings, and structural safeguards for equipment that remains in place during installation.
