Director of Business Development

Business Development and Revenue GrowthLead firmwide business development strategy to drive revenue growth and expand market presence.Identify, prioritize, and pursue new business opportunities, including entry into new industries, geographies, and client segments.Partner with attorneys to develop origination opportunities in line with the Firm's business development strategy.Develop and execute targeted practice group action plans for practice groups.Expand revenue from existing clients through cross-marketing and cultivating client relationships.Elevate the firm's business development approach, overseeing high-impact RFP responses, proposals, and presentations that represent a positive return on investment.Cultivate and leverage strategic relationships with referral sources, industry influencers, and business partners to generate new opportunities.Monitor and analyze new client and new matter KPIs to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.Engagement and Brand ElevationEnsure consistent, proactive client engagement with target audience through profile-raising initiatives, including thought leadership development, events, sponsorships, and digital strategy.Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to support existing and new client outreach, as well as strengthen relationships with resource partners.Evaluate ROI on marketing efforts to ensure alignment with strategic goals.Stay abreast of business and legal news that might impact clients and our marketing efforts.Operational and Team LeadershipBuild and lead a high-performing business development team, implementing best practices, tools, and systems to support the firm's business development and marketing goals.Oversee budget allocation with a focus on ROI-driven investments that support business development outcomes.Supervise, mentor, and develop team members to effectively support the marketing and business development efforts of attorneys.Qualifications10+ years of business development experience, with a strong track record of driving revenue growth in a law firm or professional services environment.5+ years managing a business development team of 2 or more team members.Experience working closely with senior professionals to shape and execute growth strategies.Proven leadership experience including application of strategic plans to business development activities.Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and inspire at the partner level.Strong analytical capabilities with experience using data to drive business decisions and measure performance.
