Title: Structural Designer
Position Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for design and delivery of quality structural projects
from design through construction administration often working on several projects concurrently
for both new construction and seismic retrofit of existing buildings. This position is San
Francisco-based. Work includes:
Learning how structural and nonstructural components behave in seismic events.
Learning applicable building codes and standards
Performing linear and nonlinear structural analysis
Preparing design calculations
Preparing seismic evaluation reports
Preparing construction drawings
Providing construction administration support
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in civil/structural engineering
EIT license
Up to three years’ experience
Familiarity with prevalent seismic design methodologies and codes
Basic knowledge of linear and nonlinear analysis methodologies and software, including
ETABS and SAP2000. PERFORM and OpenSeeS experience is a plus.
Experience with coding related to analysis and design, including VBA and Python
Familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD
Proficiency in steel, concrete, and masonry design
Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills
Desire to learn and grow through ongoing education, training and mentoring
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Forell | Elsesser offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits package which includes
medical, dental, vision, 401 (k) plan and profit sharing.
The salary range for this position is $89,000 - $95,000 before bonuses, as eligible. If you are
hired at FE, your base salary is based on factors such as skills, education, experience, and
professional licensure, if applicable. FE is committed to pay equity and we consider internal
