Solid Waste & Recycling Facility Technician

The Johnston County Solid Waste Department has an immediate opening for a Solid Waste Recycling & Facilities Technician. Work includes operating heavy equipment to maintain the Johnston County Solid Waste Landfill, to clear land, haul dirt to cover landfill solid waste, grade and landscape the landfill sites. An employee in this class assists the public with unloading and sorting solid waste and recyclable materials at a solid waste and recycling materials collection site. Work includes maintaining site in neat and clean condition, providing information about operations and policies to customers, and assisting disabled customers and other related tasks. Employees in this class will also drive and operate roll-off trucks to transport solid waste materials and recyclable materials at the landfill facility.
