Technical Staff - Remote Sensing Scientist

For our client, we are seeking a Technical Staff - Remote Sensing Scientist to join the team of a leader in the Aerospace & Defense space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Aerospace & Defense environment.Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship availableCompensation: $145,200 – $220,000 annuallyResponsibilities Collaborate with a team of scientists and engineers on sensor system development Prototype, operate, and analyze advanced electro-optical sensor systems Conduct tests, calibration, error budget analysis, and uncertainty modeling Develop and validate algorithms for remote sensing applications Implement and automate analysis and reporting tools for sensor dataQualifications PhD in Physics, Optical or Aerospace Engineering, or related field, or MS with 5+ years of experience Experience in satellite remote sensing, radiative transfer modeling, and optical sensor characterization Familiarity with algorithm development, machine learning, and validation techniques in remote sensing Knowledge of space systems and test design, including hardware assembly experience Proficiency in analytical programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, or C/C++ Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and solve complex technical problemsBenefits Comprehensive health, dental, and vision plans MIT-funded pension and matching 401K Paid leave including vacation, sick, and parental leave Tuition reimbursement and continuing education support Access to mentorship programs and work-life balance optionsOur client is an equal opportunity employer.
