You can make a positive impact in the community on day 1!MAJOR RESPONSIBILITYServe as a client advocate providing client information and peer support.RESPONSIBILITIES Assist clients in identifying personal goals for recoveryAssist clients in working with the treatment team in determining the steps to take in order to achieve their goalsUtilize and teach problem solving skillsShare personal experience to communicate what skills, strength, and supports and resources they use.Teach and role model the value of every client's recovery experienceModel effective coping techniques and self-help strategiesEducate clients about community and natural supports and how to use these in the recovery processAssist clients in developing empowerment skills and combating stigma through self-advocacyParticipate in the collaborative treatment planning processParticipate in weekly team meetingsReceive weekly supervision by the Clinical DirectorComplete staff development activitiesKNOWLEDGE Knowledge of the recovery process and the ability to facilitate recovery using established mental health processes.Knowledge of signs and symptoms of mental illness and the ability to assist the client to address symptoms.SKILLS Good written and verbal communication skills. Be comfortable working with others as a part of a team.Ability to work with individuals between 16 and 34 years of age.Some computer skills necessary.
