Certificated Required Attachments:Cover LetterResumeThree (3) Reference LettersThe position description is subject to change by the employer as the needs of the employer and the requirements of the job change.Specific Duties and Responsibilities:Make short and long-range plans for each subject area of instruction and provides case management of the student's IEPConsults with general education teachers regarding the accommodations and modifications needed by each IEP student on his/her caseloadProvide for individual differences in the learning needs of studentsProvide a classroom climate that is based on mutual respect, rapport, fairness and consistencyMonitor student performance and be adaptable to current curriculum needsGive students prompt and meaningful feedback on their performanceSupport students in improving their self regulation skillsInform parents of student progress in terms of grade-level expectationsInteract positively with students, colleagues, parents and community membersDirect student teachers, educational assistants, student tutors and parent volunteers when such personnel are utilizedIncorporate behavior and SEL goals with academic instructionHandle student discipline and attendance problems and assist with the enforcement of all school rulesWork collaboratively with co-workers as part of a professional learning communityMaintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality about studentsPerform job-related, non-teaching dutiesParticipate in staff development activitiesParticipate in school improvement and parent involvement activitiesPerform other such duties as assigned by the building administratorQualifications:Washington State Teacher Certification with appropriate endorsement.Preference may be given to those with successful special education teaching experience at the elementary school level.Knowledge of subject matter in classroom instruction.Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance.Benefits:Employees are eligible for medical, dental, vision and basic life insurance, as administered by the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB).
