Job Title: Point-of-Sale Technical Program ManagerLocation: On-site 4x/week in Lynnwood, WAJob Type: Full-time*Unable to provide sponsorship or transfers at this timeCore Responsibilities: The Point-of-Sale (POS) Technical Program Manager role is hands-on and is responsible for leading the planning, implementation, and ongoing operations of enterprise POS systems across all retail locations. This role ensures reliable performance, scalability, and compliance of the platform while driving innovation, vendor collaboration, and process improvements to support seamless in-store transactions and customer experiences.• Design, document, and implement standardized processes for POS operations, support, and maintenance• Establish clear workflows (incident, problem, and change management) that improve efficiency, consistency, and alignment with industry best practices• Oversee backlog grooming, capacity planning, sprint reporting, and customer engagements for the delivery of completed solutions with defined supporting artifacts• Contribute to business engagements for clarity to the health, operations, and lifecycle of POS architecture• Lead the solution development functions associated with enterprise POS operations• Documentation and development of POS operations and technology lifecycle• Validate and onboard necessary technology and tools for sustainable operations• Ensure alignment with security and compliance standards (PCI, SOX, CIS, and internal policies)• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and data-driven decision-makingDaily Operations: Management of the POS project portfolio for a strong technology lifecycle including version control, testing, staging, deployment to production environments, configuration management, and security• Collaborate with IT teams to maintain a cohesive and thoughtful architecture. Contribute to the assessment of environment changes and develop additional POS workloads through project management practices• Security management for implementation and maintenance of security measures that protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access. Partner with the security teams to ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and internal policies• Monitoring performance and tracking key metrics (response times, uptime, error rates, and resource utilization) to identify potential issues and proactively remediate• Incident management and coordination to unplanned outages and performance degradation • Patch management of required security and stability updates• Performance optimization of POS systems, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing performance improvements to optimize system responsiveness• Reporting and analysis of health, performance metrics, and operational trends to inform decision-making• Models skills in critical thinking, analysis, problem solving, communication, and leadership influence• Ensure alignment to best practices that meet business needs for speed, stability, security and scalability• Directly handles escalated incidents via team engagement or personally handling incidents to resolution• Partner with vendor services to further optimize front-end and back-end configurations• Development of automation efforts to strengthen and streamline POS operationsAttributes: • Strong communication skills and ability to speak effectively at all corporate levels • Humble, curious, and a voracious learner• Natural problem solver and differentiates where in the technology stack an incident occurs• Forward thinking, creative, and collaborative• Approachable, calm, and confident with a high degree of emotional intelligence• Precise and effective in verbal and written communication• Seeks creative solutions, dives into the unknown, and feels comfortable out on limbs• Thrives in the complexity of working through influence without authorityPreferred Qualifications & Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience• 3-5 years of retail system experience with emphasis on POS platforms• 1-2 years of program/project management experience• Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC)• Strong knowledge and POS architecture payment processing systems (cloud, on-premises)• Strong knowledge of client / server operations at a large scale and geography• Working knowledge of transaction routing and queuing systems (SymmetricDS, ActiveMQ, Cassandra)• Working knowledge with SQL platforms, databases, and query languages (Postgres, H2)• Working knowledge with monitoring and logging tools (Datadog, Splunk)• Ability to write clear and concise documentation, reports and business correspondence• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions• Ability to assess risk and make decisions that could have a significant impact on the company• Ability to complete problem-solving in a timely manner, taking priorities and risks into consideration and identifying and addressing root causesPhysical Demands and Work Environment: • Ability to sit at a workstation in an office environment for extended periods of time and without limitations.• Ability to move about, sit, bend, and squat in an office environment to access files and gather information.Benefits: • Salary Range:• Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance, following an initial wait period• Matched 401k after meeting qualifications• Paid Parental Leave• Sick Time Eligible• Life Insurance• Paid Vacation• Bonus Potential• Stock Purchase Program• Open, casual, pet-friendly office environment• Employee Discount• On-site skate park, on-site cafeteria
