Smith is headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with approximately 12,000 employees at operations in the United States, Canada, China, India, Mexico, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.Primary Function ResponsibilitiesUnload trucks and put away materials.Load complete materials for shipment.Pick, stage and deliver materials and components to the assembly line based on production schedules and work ordersEnsure assembly lines are continuously supplied with required parts, packaging and materials to prevent line downtimeSafely operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other material handling equipment in compliance with safety requirementsAccurately perform inventory transactions and material movements in SAP at the time of movementVerify material numbers, quantities and labels before staging or racking materialsMonitor material levels at the line and proactively communicate potential shortages to the Team Lead or SupervisorStore materials in designated locations following established procedures and 5S standardsAssist with cycle counts, inventory checks and resolution of inventory discrepancies as requiredMaintain a clean, organized and safe work area, reporting hazards or equipment concerns immediatelyFollow all plant safety policies, work rules and PPE requirementsPerform other duties as assigned to support business needsQualificationsBasic computer knowledge and navigation is helpful.Must have a valid state driver's license and the aptitude to obtain a company forklift license prior to performing forklift duties.Experience and knowledge of the commercial boilers, water heaters and pool heaters.Prior assembly experience is preferred.Excellent communication skills via written and oral Promotes a safe and organized work area.High School Diploma or GEDMinimum of 6 months related work experiencePhysical RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting/standing and frequent bending and reaching.The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and with assistanceWe OfferCompetitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits plans which include medical and dental insurance, company-sponsored life insurance, retirement security savings plan, short- and long-term disability programs and tuition assistance.ADA Statement & EEO StatementIn developing this job description care was taken to include all competencies needed to successfully perform in this position.
