Position: Remote IP Network EngineerLocation: Remote. Must work in Alaskan hours (NO FLEX). Cannot sit in Alabama, California, Hawaii, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Wyoming, Washington, Washington DC, and Chicago.Duration: 6 month contract (possibility to convert)Insight Global is seeking a Remote IP Network Engineer to support our telecommunications client. This individual will support the design, deployment, and optimization of its IP and transport network infrastructure. This engineer will define, design, and implement network systems using core engineering principles focused on availability, efficiency, redundancy, scalability, and security. The role includes auditing and forecasting bandwidth, managing capacity, hardware, software licensing, and hosted devices, while ensuring optimal performance through proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Technologies, Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering, or related fieldExperience in service provider, telecommunications, or data center environments, with an understanding of large-scale network operations.4-6 years of experience with the configuration of Cisco, Nokia, and Juniper routers or switchesExperience creating and editing network drawings using Microsoft Visio applicationExperience with Metasolv Plus:Experience with common transport technologies such as Ethernet, SONET, TDM, Fiber, Microwave, Satellite, Palo Alto, WiFi, cellular, etcCertifications in:Cisco CCNA / CCNPNokia NRS I / NRS IIBrocade BCNE / BCNPJuniper JNCIA / JNCIS
