Sr. Electrical Engineer

Form Energy is hiring a Staff Electrical Engineer to impact development andvalidation of our groundbreaking battery technology. As part of our BMSHardware & Electrical System team, you will be responsible for the fulllifecycle of PCBA design — from requirements generation, componentselection, schematic & layout development,, release through vendor DFM,bring up, and verification. You will work cross-functionally with mechanical,firmware, and manufacturing teams to deliver PCBAs that meet the highestsafety and compliance standards.This is an exciting opportunity to helpshape and be part of the growth of a fast-moving company withbreakthrough technology and an incredible mission!What You’ll Do:● Responsible for the full lifecycle of PCBA design — from requirementsgeneration, component selection, schematic & layout development,design release through vendor DFM, bring up, verification,configuration management, sustaining● Ensure PCBA designs meet safety, reliability, and compliancestandards for high-power and hazardous systems● Create requirements, DFMEA/CFMEA, electrical block diagrams,simulations, analysis, schematics, layouts, bring-up/test plans, and 8Discipline (8D) reports● Work cross functionally with System Engineering,Mechanical/Electro-Mechnical, Firmware/Software, & Test/Verificationteams to define, design, & test PCBAs and resolve Electrical Systemrelated issues● Support troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvementof released PCBA designs● Document Design Concepts, Architecture, Block Diagrams,Bring-Up/Test Results, Root Cause Investigations, and DecisionMatricesWhat You’ll Bring:● Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or arelated field with 7+ years of relevant experience (battery or energystorage systems experience is a plus); OR Master's degree with 5+years of relevant experience.● Proficiency in PCBA design ECAD SW Altium or equivalent● Hands-on experience with sensors, power electronics (high voltage,high power, AC, SMPS, LDO), processing (MCU, MPU, SOM),networking (Ethernet, CAN-FD, isoSPI), on board communication (SPI,UART, I2C, JTAG), data acquisition (IO, ADC, DAC), and control systems(gate drivers, motor drivers, HSD)● Strong understanding of safety and compliance considerations inhigh-power and/or chemical environments● Demonstrated experience designing PCBAs and Electrical Systems toUL 991, 1973, 9540, 1998 requirements● Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance speed, rigor,and safety● Familiarity with the SW including PLM (e.g. Arena or Team Center),product development SW (e.g. JIRA) and requirement managementtools (e.g. JAMA)● Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to workindependently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
