Role: Forward Deployed Engineer - Agentic AI Financial Services and FintechLocation: Berkeley Heights, NJMode of Hire: Full TimeRole Overview We are seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to work directly with business, operations, product and engineering teams to design and deploy AI-powered solutions across financial-services workflows. The FDE will combine software engineering, AI expertise and domain knowledge to take solutions from discovery and prototyping through production deployment, adoption and continuous improvement.ResponsibilitiesUnderstand business workflows, operational challenges and system constraints.Identify high-value opportunities for AI agents, copilots and workflow automation.Translate business needs into solution designs, agent workflows and measurable outcomes.Build agents for customer and advisor support, payment operations, merchant onboarding, ticket routing, knowledge search, incident diagnosis, reconciliation, exception handling, testing and release support.Develop solutions using LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), tool calling, APIs and human-in-the-loop workflows.Integrate agents with financial applications, databases, ServiceNow, Jira, CRM and monitoring platforms.Convert successful prototypes into secure, scalable production solutions.Define evaluations for accuracy, reliability, latency, security and business value.Implement monitoring, audit logging, access controls, fallback and rollback mechanisms.Partner with architecture, cybersecurity, risk and compliance teams.Support production deployments and continuously improve solutions based on user feedback.Skills Required:5+ years of experience in software engineering, AI engineering, platform engineering, DevOps or enterprise application development.Strong programming experience in Python, Java, JavaScript or TypeScript.Experience with LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, agent frameworks and tool calling.Experience integrating applications using APIs, databases and event-driven systems.Understanding of cloud platforms, CI/CD, observability and production support.Strong problem-solving, stakeholder-management and communication skills.Ability to take solutions from ambiguous requirements through production deployment.Preferred Skills: Experience in payments, banking, wealth management, brokerage, lending or merchant services.Knowledge of financial-services security, privacy, compliance and audit requirements.Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, Datadog, Splunk, AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.Experience with LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, CrewAI, vector databases, Docker or Kubernetes.Previous consulting, solutions-engineering or customer-facing technical experience.Success MeasuresProduction agents deployed and adopted.Reduction in manual effort and processing time.Improved operational and engineering productivity.Reduced incident-resolution time and recurring issues.Agent accuracy, reliability and successful-execution rates.Compliance with security, risk and audit requirements.Measurable business value delivered
