Project Manager
I am partnering with an established U.S. renewable energy developer-owner-operator with a multi-gigawatt portfolio of wind and solar assets owned and operated across the country, now scaling its utility-scale solar PV, BESS, and hybrid pipeline from late-stage development through commercial operations. You will lead utility-scale solar PV, battery storage, and hybrid projects across their full lifecycle, either directly or by coordinating internal and external project teams. You will own scope, schedule, budget, and risk from design and engineering through procurement, construction, commissioning, and close-out. This is a remote role with regular travel to active project sites.Key responsibilities:Manage the design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and close-out of utility-scale solar, BESS, and hybrid projects.Develop, maintain, and execute detailed project execution plans covering scope, schedule, budget, and risk.Establish and control project budgets and forecasts, coordinating cost and cash flow reporting with finance.Provide engineering and technical support to development, permitting, and interconnection activities.Oversee construction execution, ensuring compliance with contracts, permits, environmental regulations, safety, and quality standards.Manage interconnection agreement tasks and utility coordination through testing, energization, and commercial operation.Coordinate with legal on contracts, supply agreements, and warranties.Support financing activities, including lender due diligence and independent engineer reviews.Lead the transition of completed projects into operations and asset management.Direct Construction Managers, Project Engineers, and quality personnel assigned to your projects. What you bring:5 or more years managing utility-scale renewable energy projects.Prior experience as a Project Manager or Owner's Representative on renewable energy projects.Strong command of construction contracting, project controls, scheduling, and cost management.Proven ability to run multiple projects or project phases simultaneously.Ability to interpret project financial reports and prepare cash flow forecasts.BESS and hybrid project experience, with electrical or high-voltage infrastructure exposure preferred.Familiarity with Inflation Reduction Act requirements, including domestic content and labor compliance.PMP certification and/or Professional Engineer license preferred.Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline. Why this role? You sit on the owner's side of a developer that builds and keeps what it develops, which means the projects you deliver become long-term assets rather than someone else's turnover. For a Project Manager who wants full lifecycle ownership across solar, storage, and hybrid, this offers real breadth and a direct line to commercial operation.Reach out to matt@sourcechange.com for a confidential conversation.
