Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled SQL Database Administrator responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing SQL Server databases to ensure high performance, availability, and security. The role involves supporting production databases, performing backups and recovery, monitoring database health, and collaborating with development teams to optimize queries and database design.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases
Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies
Perform regular database backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning
Manage database security, user roles, and permissions
Troubleshoot database issues and ensure system availability
Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and stored procedures
Implement database maintenance plans and monitoring tools
Support database migrations, upgrades, and patching
Collaborate with developers and application teams for database optimization
Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies
Required Skills
Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration
Proficiency in T-SQL, stored procedures, and query optimization
Knowledge of database backup, restore, and recovery strategies
Experience with performance tuning and indexing
Understanding of high availability solutions (Always On, replication, clustering)
Familiarity with database monitoring tools
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Preferred Skills
Experience with Azure SQL / cloud database services
Knowledge of database automation and scripting (PowerShell)
Exposure to ETL processes and data integration tools
Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for databases
