Direct Support Professional

Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide support to individuals with special needs, assisting with daily living activities and promoting independence. Responsibilities: - Provide direct care and support to clients in their homes, nursing homes, or in community-based settings - Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management - Observe and report on clients' vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation - Monitor and document clients' progress, identifying areas where additional support is needed - Promote independence and dignity for all clients, respecting their individual needs and preferences - Assist clients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming - Provide memory care support and engage clients in activities designed to stimulate cognitive function - Lift and transfer clients as needed, ensuring their safety and comfort - Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients, adhering to HIPAA guidelines and regulations - Administer CPR as needed, providing emergency care until medical professionals arrive - Collaborate with healthcare professionals and other support staff to develop and implement individualized care plans Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent - Experience working with individuals with special needs - Knowledge of nursing home or home care settings - Ability to lift and transfer clients safely - Current CPR certification - Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and regulations - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Compassionate and patient-centered approach - Ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families - Strong observational and documentation skills - Willingness to undergo background checks and other necessary clearances This position requires a caring and dedicated individual who is committed to providing exceptional support to individuals with special needs.
