PRINCIPLE CHOICE SOLUTIONSFinancial AnalystPOSITION PURPOSEWe are seeking a highly motivated entry-level Financial Analyst, to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager and the Accounting Department to help identify financial variances and trend anomalies to drive informed decision-making.ORGANIZATIONThis position reports to the Senior Financial Analyst/Accountant.Essential FunctionsFinancial Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analyses to identify variances, trends, and anomalies in company dataBudget Support: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and financial plansReporting: Develop, maintain, and improve financial models using Excel to support strategic initiatives and decision-making processes. Data Reconciliation: Perform detailed reconciliations of financial data to ensure accuracy and completenessVariance Analysis: Investigate and report on significant variances between actual and budgeted figures, providing insights and recommendationsTrend Analysis: Identify and analyze financial trends to support strategic planning and forecastingProcess Improvement: Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operationsCollaboration: Work closely with the FP&A Manager, Accounting Department, and other Corporate Managers to provide financial insights and supportKNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related fieldA minimum of 2 years or a maximum of 5 years of experience in financial analysisStrong proficiency in financial modeling, analysis, and reportingFamiliarity with financial statements, particularly income statements and balance sheetsExperience with financial software and ERP systems (Unanet – a Plus)Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skillsStrong attention to detail and accuracyStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple prioritiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentProficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite applicationsExperience with government contracting and related financial regulationsExperience with data visualization tools and techniquesMACHINES & EQUIPMENTThe incumbent must be able to effectively operate the current computer system, telephone system, and other office machines such as a copier.Physical RequirementsMust be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone.WORKING CONDITIONSThe incumbent works in an office environment that is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions such as heat, cold, or extreme noise. Routine periods of being on the phone utilizing a headset, sitting and data keying are required.
