Reporting to the Sr. Director of Electrical Engineering, this role is pivotal in developing native Android applications that seamlessly integrate with our fitness equipment and digital platforms. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fitness technology, mobile innovation, and creating compelling user experiences that motivate users to achieve their wellness goals. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable applications that enhance our product ecosystem and customer engagement.QualificationsTo be successful in this role, candidates should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in native Android development using Kotlin and Java is required. Strong knowledge of the Android SDK, Jetpack libraries, and MVVM architecture is essential. Familiarity with RESTful APIs, third-party SDKs, and experience with deploying applications via the Google Play Store are also necessary. Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team are highly valued.ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Android Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining native Android applications focused on fitness tracking, equipment integration, and retail engagement. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and hardware engineers to deliver cohesive and intuitive user experiences. Your role includes integrating apps with fitness APIs such as Google Fit and Health Connect, Bluetooth-enabled fitness equipment, and IoT platforms to ensure seamless connectivity and real-time data synchronization.You will optimize application performance across a diverse range of Android devices and screen sizes, ensuring a smooth user experience. Maintaining the security and confidentiality of user data, particularly health and fitness metrics, is a top priority. Additionally, you will lead code reviews, mentor junior developers, and contribute to architectural decisions that shape the future of our Android applications.
