Koning Eizenberg is a Santa Monica based team of architects, planners, and designers that actively engage social and physical context to make architecture that counts by amplifying opportunities hiding in plain sight. We are a collaborative team interested in growing our expertise and influence to shape sustainable neighborhood and community settings.
We are searching for a Project Architect with 10+ years of experience across a variety of building types, including multifamily housing. The ideal candidate will have prior project management experience; be detail-oriented with knowledge of various funding sources and the building and zoning codes that regulate affordable housing.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead and manage the technical development of projects from conception through construction. Oversee and produce SD, DD, CD sets and record drawings
Collaborate with client/consultant teams: manage scopes/tasks, contracts, schedules and budgets.
Mentor and support design team(s) within a collaborative studio environment
Work with Partners/Principal and design team to ensure ongoing design development and quality control from contract documents through construction
Qualifications / Expectations
A collaborative working style with strong communication skills
Ability to manage deadlines, calendars, and tasks
Experience leading project teams and clients through all phases of design and construction
Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, Excel
Current architectural license required, California or Colorado strongly preferred
Familiarity with other 3D modelling and/or collaborative management software preferred
Strong preference for candidates who demonstrate multifamily housing (ideally affordable)
Role
Start Date: on or after March 15, 2026
Location: Santa Monica, California or Denver, Colorado studios
Annual Salary: Negotiated based on experience; $105,000-125,000
Work Week: Full-time (in office, partial hybrid negotiable after 6 months)
