Kids Company Assistant (Before School)

Kids Company Assistant Assist the Site Leader in providing a well-planned, organized, and enriching Kids Company Program. The position supports the supervision and engagement of children in a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment.Essential Functions:Assist the Site Leader in planning, implementing and carrying out daily activities.Supervise childrens activities, including set-up and clean-up, and ensure all safety rules are followed.Support and implement discipline procedures as needed when directly involved with the situation.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Actively participate in games, projects, and activities, serving as a positive role model and leader.Maintain program supplies and communicate with the Site Leader when additional materials are needed.Be available to work on release days as scheduled by the Site Leader or Kids Company Coordinator.Communicate any concerns, incidents, or unusual situations to the Site Leader and/or Coordinator.Attend staff meetings and recommended training programs to meet in-service training requirements.Promote teamwork, excellent customer service, and a positive image of the program to colleagues, students, parents, and the community.Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with district and program policies.Qualifications:Education and Experience: High School Diploma/GED At least 18 years of age. One (1) year experience working with young children (approximately 1,040 hours), preferred.Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation. Current First Aid and CPR certification (Candidates without certification will attend trainings after hire to be certified)Required Knowledge: District policies and procedures. Confidentiality requirements related to students and families. Basic understanding of emergency response and incident reporting protocols.Required Skills: Ability to support individual students and small groups. Clear and professional communication with supervisors, coworkers, students and families. Demonstrate reliability and accountability when responding to daily tasks and unexpected circumstances.Physical/Mental Requirements: Mobility and stamina to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings; ability to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods of time; strength to lift and carry materials or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds; visual ability to monitor students and read written materials; hearing and verbal communication skills to interact effectively in indoor and outdoor environments; and mental alertness to supervise students, follow procedures, and respond appropriately to changing situations.Working Environment: Work is performed in multiple settings including but not limited to, classrooms, playgrounds, cafeterias, gymnasiums, and multipurpose rooms.
