Overview We are looking for a Software Architect to join our engineering organization and help shape the future of our cloud-native regulatory reporting platform. You will work closely with multiple development teams, DevOps, and business stakeholders to design scalable, secure, and compliant solutions used by financial institutions across Europe. This is a hands-on architecture role, combining technical leadership with real impact on platform evolution and strategic decisions.
Responsibilities Design end-to-end architectures for complex, distributed systems (cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS)
Define target architecture and guide teams through migration from legacy systems
Ensure systems are scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient
Drive adoption of cloud-native patterns (GCP, Kubernetes, microservices)
Define standards for: service communication (REST, messaging)
data storage (SQL/NoSQL, streaming)
security and access management
Collaborate with DevOps on platform architecture and infrastructure strategy
Lead legacy-to-cloud migration initiatives
Identify and mitigate architectural risks
Design integrations between internal systems and external platforms (banks, regulators)
Ensure data consistency, correctness, and auditability
Work with large-scale data processing pipelines and reporting systems
Ensure solutions meet regulatory and security requirements
Design systems with auditability and traceability in mind
Support compliance with financial regulations (e.g. EBA, NBP)
Work closely with multiple engineering teams (backend, DevOps, QA)
Act as a technical leader and mentor
Support teams in making architectural decisions
Facilitate alignment across teams and stakeholders
Qualifications & Experience Strong experience as a Software Architect / Senior Engineer (5+ years in architecture role)
Distributed systems
Cloud-native applications
Hands-on knowledge of: Java / JVM ecosystem (Spring Boot, reactive stack is a plus)
Cloud platforms (GCP preferred)
Kubernetes and containerized environments
APIs, messaging systems, integration patterns
Strong understanding of: system design trade-offs
scalability, performance, reliability
data consistency (ACID vs eventual consistency)
Experience working closely with multiple teams in a complex environment
Nice to have Experience in RegTech/financial reporting systems
Knowledge of: COREP, FINREP, LCR, Anacredit
Experience with: multi-tenant SaaS architectures
event-driven systems
Data platforms and modern data stack, including: Apache Iceberg
Trino
Apache NiFi
BigQuery, streaming, ETL pipelines
Personal Skills Strong ownership and decision-making ability
Excellent communication with both technical and business stakeholders
