An employee in trainee status shall meet the minimum qualifications within the period of time specified on the SJD, not to exceed one year of being hired into this position.RESPONSIBILITIES :Participates in and supervises the removal, installation, repair, calibration, and testing of Mobile Radio Equipment in NH DOT vehicles and related assets to ensure reliable statewide intra-DOT mobile voice communications.Installs mountain-top radio repeater stations, including conducting site surveys and selections, recommending and ordering appropriate materials and components, overseeing tower installation, and performing testing to optimize system performance and coverage.Performs recalibration and preventive maintenance on mountain-top repeater stations (excluding receiver/transmitter units) to ensure station reliability, longevity, and optimal operation.Operates and analyzes test instruments such as Bird Wattmeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators to diagnose equipment malfunctions and determine necessary repairs.Maintains accurate inventories and records of all NH DOT radio equipment, ensuring accountability and precise tracking of equipment locations.Develops and manages vehicle radio removal and installation schedules in coordination with all NH DOT agencies to ensure efficient, timely, and coordinated radio system upgrades and maintenance.For additional information contact Nicholas King, Administrator, at (603) 271-3847 or Bureau56@dot.nh.govFor assistance creating your talent profile or applying online please contact Daniel 'DJ' Garber, at (603)-271-8026 or at Daniel.J.Garber@dot.nh.govEOETDD Access: Relay NH 1-800-735-2964
