Sterile Process Technician

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Process Technician to join our healthcare sterilization team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper decontamination, sterilization, assembly, and packaging of medical instruments and equipment used in surgical procedures and patient care. Your expertise will directly contribute to infection prevention, patient safety, and the efficient operation of healthcare services. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of sterile processing techniques, medical terminology, and infection control protocols, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety. Duties Perform decontamination procedures on surgical instruments and medical devices using appropriate cleaning agents and sterilization methods. Assemble, inspect, and package sterile instruments with precision, adhering to strict aseptic techniques and industry standards. Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ethylene oxide sterilizers, and other medical sterilization devices safely and effectively. Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies, ensuring proper storage conditions and accurate documentation for traceability. Conduct routine quality checks on processed instruments to verify sterility and functionality before distribution. Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and quality assurance activities in compliance with regulatory requirements. Support endoscope reprocessing by following specialized cleaning protocols to ensure complete decontamination. Experience Proven experience in sterile processing within a healthcare environment or medical facility. Knowledge of medical equipment sterilization standards, including AAMI (Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation) guidelines. Familiarity with anatomy and physiology concepts relevant to surgical instrument handling and endoscope reprocessing.
