SUPERINTENDENT

Job Title: Civil Construction Superintendent Company: Strong Excavation Job Type: Full-Time Position Overview: Strong Excavation is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Superintendent to oversee daily field operations on site development projects. This role is responsible for supervising crews, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans and schedules. The Superintendent plays a critical leadership role in delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities: Field Leadership & Project Oversight: Leads and supervises field crews and subcontractors on active job sites Reviews and understands project plans, specifications, schedules, and scopes of work Plans daily and weekly work activities to meet production goals and schedules Coordinates labor, equipment, and materials to ensure efficient jobsite operations Project Execution & Safety: Ensures all work is performed in compliance with safety policies, quality standards, and company procedures Conducts daily safety meetings and enforces jobsite safety practices Monitors production, workmanship, and productivity to meet project expectations Identifies and resolves field issues, conflicts, and constructability challenges Scheduling, Documentation & Communication: Tracks and documents daily jobsite activities, labor hours, and equipment usage Communicates progress, issues, and schedule impacts to project management Assists with change order identification, field measurements, and documentation Maintains accurate jobsite records, reports, and as-built information Additional Responsibilities: Builds strong working relationships with crews, subcontractors, inspectors, and clients Mentors and develops field personnel Supports project closeout and punch list completion Represents Strong Excavation professionally on all job sites Requirements: Prior experience as a Superintendent in civil construction or site development is required Strong background in earthwork, underground utilities, and site infrastructure Ability to read and interpret civil plans, grades, and specifications Proven leadership managing crews and jobsite operations Solid understanding of construction schedules, sequencing, and safety standards Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Reliable transportation and ability to travel to job sites as required Pre-Employment Requirements: Must successfully pass a drug screening, background check, and physical abilities test Only qualified candidates will be considered.
