Systems Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer who shares our passion for technology and customer service. The Systems Engineer’s main areas of responsibility are to act as an escalated resource for our Helpdesk Support Team by identifying and resolving complex technical issues, maintaining client uptime and improving their computing experiences through proactive maintenance, and supporting our Project Team, all while providing exceptional customer service. This is an in-office position based out of St. Albans, VT. Candidates must reside in the St. Albans area and be readily available to commute to our office and client locations. Qualified candidates will have 2-3 years of experience in a Systems Engineer role in addition to a minimum of 2 years in a Desktop Support role. Ideal candidates will have prior MSP experience and a proven track record of comprehensive IT administration and support of small, medium, and multi-site networks. Preference will be given to applicants with CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CCNA, and/or MCSA certifications. Primary areas of responsibility: Serve as an escalation point for the Helpdesk Support Team Perform advanced troubleshooting of customers’ network, hardware, and application issues Maintain timely, accurate notes and status of issues in the ConnectWise ticketing system Provide onsite technical assistance to our clients Work through proactive technical support items Manage client security devices such as firewall configurations and firmware updates Documentation of network configurations Support the Projects Team with implementations Qualified applicants should have 4 years of experience with these technologies: ConnectWise PSA ticketing software IT Glue Windows Server OS (all versions) – design, implementation, and support Windows 10 and up – installation, configuration, and maintenance Hyper-V / VMWare, installing and upgrading ESXi host and vCenter Office 365 -multiple applications Azure VEEAM and Quest Remote Desktop Services LAN and WAN networking including VPNs, subnetting, VLANs, and routing Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, and NAT Physical Demand: Sitting for extended periods of time Repetitive motions Standing and walking for brief periods of time Lifting and racking (or un-racking) server components VTC Tech offers a competitive salary, employee health and dental benefits, and paid time off.
