Senior Accountant
DescriptionThe Senior Accountant will support construction project financials and overall accounting operations. This role requires hands-on experience with job costing, WIP reporting, percentage-of-completion accounting, SG&A allocation, and multi-entity accounting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and works closely with project management and operations while supporting sales/use tax compliance and accounting system optimization.Salary: $80-95k + bonus & 401K match of 3-4%. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 100% onsite Key ResponsibilitiesConstruction & Project AccountingManage job costing, WIP reporting, revenue recognition, and cost forecastingReview contracts, billings, change orders, retainage, and project profitabilityPartner with project teams on budgets, margins, and cost controlMulti-Entity & Tax ComplianceSupport accounting across multiple related entities and SG&A allocationsTrack intercompany transactions and consolidated reportingManage sales/use tax compliance, filings, and audit supportClose, Reporting & SystemsPrepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reportsAssist with monthly/annual close and GAAP complianceSupport Sage Intacct optimization, process improvements, and cross-functional collaborationMentor junior staff and enhance accounting efficiency and reporting accuracy.Job RequirementsRequired Skills / Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in construction or job-cost accountingStrong knowledge of WIP schedules and percentage-of-completion accountingExperience working in a multi-entity construction environmentStrong understanding of SG&A allocation and intercompany accountingWorking knowledge of construction-related sales and use taxProficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel skillsAbility to learn new systems quickly and support accounting process improvementsPreferred Skills / Qualifications:Experience using Sage Intacct, particularly in a construction environmentParticipation in an ERP implementation or system conversionExperience with Procore and construction financial workflowsBackground supporting self-perform construction operationsExperience in organizations with internal service divisions (equipment, trucking, site services)After you apply, you may receive a call or message from our AI Talent Scout about this role or other opportunities that match your skills and preferences.
