Job Family Group: Manufacturing OperationsPosition OverviewThis position is responsible for operating production equipment in the carbon plant.ResponsibilitiesMonitor DCS graphics and controls to effectively operate equipmentRespond to DCS alarms in a timely mannerEnsure the DCS controls are monitored at all times by qualified individualsOperate equipment in a stable manner during "start up" or "shut down" conditionsReport and address any abnormalitiesPerform minor equipment troubleshooting activitiesConduct risk assessment and authorize maintenance personnel to perform work in their assigned areaPerform any standard testing required for the areaFollow DOIs (Daily Operating Instructions)Email required positions on vital informationRecord relevant information in log sheets at the end of the shiftPerform Lock Out Tag Out as necessaryEnsure environmental permits are satisfiedKeep work area cleanParticipate in incident investigations as neededQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentTwo years of production experienceDemonstrate math skills commensurate with the job requirementsStrong written and oral communicationStrong computer skillsAbility to think ahead and coordinate – be proactiveAbility to manage situations under pressurePay keen attention to detail to detect process abnormalitiesPhysical RequirementsMust be able to work at heightsMust be able to work in confined spacesMust not have a problem working outside (in the elements) for short periods of timeMust be able to observe and hear warning signs and signals within all areas of the companyMust be able to stand 12 hours a day (with periodic breaks allowed) and walk up to an hourEmployee must wear protective eye wearEmployee must wear protective hearing gearSpecific vision ability required by this job includes close visionMust be able to type on a computer keyboardWork EnvironmentWork is performed primarily in an outdoor or warehouse environmentWork is performed in a dusty/carbon environmentThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to low decibels but is constantMust be able to work in a fast‑paced, team environmentMust be able to stay working at a given station, standing or sitting for up to 12 hours at a timeRelocation Assistance: This role is eligible for relocation assistance.Visa: This role is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.
