If you want to make a difference, we want to hear from you.Job SummaryThe Advanced Practice Provider (APP) performs comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, orders, conducts, supervises, interprets diagnostic and laboratory tests, and prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments in the direct management of acute and chronic illness in the care of the critically ill patient. Promotes health and the prevention of illness and injury. Practices autonomously and in collaboration with other health care professionals to treat and manage patient health problems. The role of the APP includes direct patient/family care, consultation, research, patient/families/groups and community advocacy to holistically care for complex patient care needs. Serves as a member of the ICU team with the primary responsibility of managing a caseload of critically ill patients under the supervision of the ICU supervising physician.QualificationsMaster's Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Nurse or Master's Degree as a Physician Assistant by the National Board of Medical Examiners, or, the Academy of Physician's Assistants RequiredTwo (2) or more years of experience as a critical care nurse or two (2) years serving as a Physician AssistantCurrent Georgia License as a Registered Professional Nurse is required for NPsCurrent Georgia Authorization/Certification as a NP Advanced Practice Registered Professional Nurse is requiredAdvanced Practice Registered Nurse, or Physician's Assistant, specializing in critical care services for inpatient settingBasic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are requiredCore CompetenciesThese competencies reflect the values and behaviors expected of all Grady team members, regardless of role.
