Machine Operator
*Job Summary*
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various machining equipment to produce high-quality components in accordance with technical specifications. This role plays a vital part in ensuring efficient production processes, adherence to safety standards, and the delivery of precision-engineered products. The ideal applicant will possess strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency with CNC machinery, and a commitment to quality and safety.
*Responsibilities*
* Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to accurately set up machining equipment.
* Operate CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brake machines, grinders, and other manufacturing tools with precision.
* Program and troubleshoot CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) and CNC programming techniques.
* Perform tooling setup, calibration, and adjustments to ensure optimal machine performance.
* Conduct quality control inspections utilizing measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments.
* Maintain compliance with safety standards by using personal protective equipment (PPE) and following established safety protocols.
* Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery to minimize downtime.
* Interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications for accurate fabrication.
* Utilize hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques for assembly or minor modifications as needed.
* Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying process improvements and waste reduction opportunities.
*Qualifications*
* Proven experience operating CNC machines, including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, or similar equipment.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
* Proficiency in CNC programming, CAM programming, and understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
* Skilled in blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and measurement techniques for quality control.
* Familiarity with welding processes such as MIG welding is preferred.
* Experience with fabrication tools including grinders, hand tools, power tools, and tooling setup.
* Knowledge of safety standards in manufacturing environments and proper PPE use.
* Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to machining tolerances, and process adjustments.
* Warehouse experience or familiarity with inventory management is advantageous.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
