Thermal Spray & Coating Technician (HVOF)
Job DescriptionESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Must be able to safely wear respirator up to 8 hours a day. Inspect, Operate, Test, & Dismantle devices to diagnose and gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools. Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate. Identify specific powders to be utilized. Apply coating per written work instructions and job router. Ensure that coating thickness is within specification and meets all requirements. Identify proper measuring tools and take readings accurately. Reading and Tracking traveler tickets. Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery. Order parts, supplies, and equipment as needed through suppliersAssist with other departments and duties as needed. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:EducationHigh School Diploma / GED Equivalent requiredKnowledge of OSHA Safety guidelines a plusExperiencePrior Warehouse/Manufacturing Experience PreferredExperience in use of power tools, lathes, forklifts, and overhead cranes preferred. SkillsUse tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices. Able to read, and comprehend written instructions. Able to coordinate with other workers to complete tasks. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to work within hot environments up to 12 hours a day. This position may include use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Proper use of PPE is required.Attention: Work environment may cause Employees to come into contact with various metal particulates such as nickel, cobalt, iron, and Tungsten Carbide.
