Medical Laboratory Technician Location: Atlanta, GA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,808 per week Shift Information: Nights - 4 days x 10 hours Contract Duration: 12 Weeks Start Date: 6/1/2026 About the Position Job Title: Medical Technologist Profession: Laboratory Specialty: Medical Technologist Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Applicable state license required Certifications: ASCP, ASCP MT, ASCP-BB, AMT, ABB are acceptable Must-Have: - Clinical screening will be required to determine candidate's fit. - Candidates must be reviewed by clinical staff before final decision. - Full compliance is required to start on time, with a potential delay if not compliant. - The unit does not accept first-time travelers. Description: The position involves working in a laboratory setting. Candidates are expected to work every third weekend. There is no on-call requirement for this position. Travelers may float within the facility as needed, according to their scope of practice. Holidays should be worked according to the unit's holiday policy. If one major holiday falls during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall during the assignment period, the traveler is required to work both. If three major holidays fall during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two. Daily responsibilities include proficiency in various laboratory tests and procedures. Candidates should have experience in blood banking procedures, specimen collection, and transfusion reaction workup. Knowledge of quality assurance and control measures is essential. Skills in performing specific tests, such as hormone/thyroid tests and cardiac enzymes, are required. The ability to maintain proper labeling and specimen storage is crucial. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to provide quality patient care is expected. Travel experience is preferred for this role. Experience with electronic charting systems is required.
