Experienced Pipe Layer

Department: OperationsLocation: Spartanburg, SCDescriptionMorgan Corp. is looking for an experienced Pipe Layer to support our utility crews in installing underground piping systems for heavy civil construction projects. This role is hands-on and critical to ensure that underground utilities are installed safely, accurately, and efficiently. If you understand trench work, know how to set pipe properly, and take pride in doing quality work, this job is for you. This position may require travel to various job sites depending on project needs.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall underground pipe for storm drainage, sanitary sewer, and water systemsRead grade stakes, lasers, and layout marks to ensure pipe is installed at proper grade and alignmentAssist with trench preparation, bedding material placement, and backfilling operationsGuide heavy equipment operators during trenching and pipe placementSet pipe, fittings, valves, and structures according to project specificationsEnsure pipe joints are properly sealed and connections are secureMaintain a safe work environment by following all trench safety and OSHA requirementsWork closely with foremen, operators, and laborers to keep projects moving efficientlyTravel to project sites as required based on job location and scheduling needs and plan repairsSkills, Knowledge and Expertise2+ years of experience as a pipe layer in heavy civil or utility constructionExperience installing storm, sewer, and waterline pipeAbility to read grade stakes, lasers, and construction drawings preferredStrong understanding of trench safety and underground utility installation practicesAbility to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift up to 75 lbsWillingness and ability to travel to job sites as neededBilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus, but not requiredStrong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety and qualityBenefitsComprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage401K with company matchPTO, holidays, and paid winter shutdownProfessional development and career growth opportunities
