Registered Behavior Technician
DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:The RBT provides direct 1:1 clinic, home, and community-based therapy to children with autism or other developmental or intellectual disabilities. The RBT will be responsible for skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction plans developed by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to deliver quality therapeutic service to each child. The RBT records and maintains data collected during a session. The RBT effectively communicates with supervisor and parents/caregivers while preserving confidentiality. The RBT works a flexible schedule that includes evening appointments. Hours of availability should be 8:30am-5:30pm. Supervision by a BCBA will be provided.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESProvide direct behavior therapy to young children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder in home, school and/or clinic settingImplement, under the supervision of a BCBA, behavioral interventions based on client's needs and current researchProvide appropriate feedback to parents and/or other caregivers under the direction of the supervising BCBAComply with the RBT Ethics CodeWork in a team to facilitate optimal care and exceptional outcomes for patientsRespect for cultural diversity and capability of adapting ABA procedures to that diversity.Regular and consistent attendanceThis role is intended to be flexible and adaptive. Any and all duties as assigned over time may be required to support organizational needs.RequirementsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCEAt least 18 years of ageA high school diploma or equivalentRBT Certificate, or ability to obtain oneMaintain the RBT Certification annual requirements sent forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification BoardExperience implementing positive behavior support plans and programs written by the BCBA.Current CPR Certification, or ability to become certifiedMaintain a valid drivers licenseSKILLS & ABILITIESKnowledge of early childhood and autism assessment tools and procedures, and child development.Knowledge of current methods and techniques of applied behavior analysis and discrete trail training.Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with patient, parents and professionals.Basic computer skills and be able to use all required software.Strong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentOrganize and prioritize work & manage time effectivelyDemonstrate an attitude of excellence and respect for all individuals
