Role SummaryA GCP Data Architect is a senior technical leader responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing scalable, secure, and cost-effective data architectures on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role blends strategic vision with hands-on engineering to modernize data platforms, enable AI/ML capabilities, and drive digital transformation.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement end-to-end data solutions using GCP services like BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage.Architect data lakes, lakehouses, and data mesh platforms for advanced analytics and AI readiness.Lead data modernization efforts, migrating legacy systems to cloud-native solutions.Develop ETL/ELT pipelines, MLOps platforms, and CI/CD frameworks for data systems.Collaborate with stakeholders to define enterprise data strategies and reference architectures.Ensure data governance, security, and compliance across platforms.Mentor engineering teams and contribute to pre-sales efforts and solution demosRequired Skills & Experience6–8+ years in data engineering, architecture, or analytics roles.Deep expertise in GCP services: BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Vertex AI, etc.Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and orchestration tools like Airflow.Experience with data modeling, distributed systems, and real-time processing.Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Deployment Manager).Knowledge of MLOps, metadata management, and data lineage automation.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.Preferred QualificationsGoogle Cloud Professional Data Engineer or Cloud Architect certification.Experience with AI/ML platforms, Kubernetes, and data cataloging tools.Background in consulting or hybrid delivery environments (onshore/offshore).
