Retail Shift ManagerThe purpose of the Hudson Ops Shift Manager I position is to assist location management in tactically executing retail store management operations. The Hudson Ops Shift Manager I ensures the store is clean, ready for business, staffed, and operates to high operational standards. The Hudson Ops Shift Manager I uses prescribed policies and procedures to make management decisions.Essential Functions:Completes opening, daily and closing procedures/checklists in accordance with company policies/proceduresAssists the Ops Manager in managing by supervising day-to-day activities of associates within a defined individual or group of stores or points-of-saleParticipates in the interview process, provides input in hiring, recommends termination, advancement, promotion or any other status change to the Ops Manager for associates within the unitAssigns work tasks and activities, participates in preparing schedules, and ensures that all shifts are coveredActively ensures all associates take all mandated rest breaks and meal periodsEnsures display areas are appropriately clean, stocked, and visually appealingEnsures all equipment is in good working orderOperates cash register and voids transactions as needed while following all company cash handling policies and procedures, and maintains proper security of cash at all timesMonitors compliance with wellness and safety procedures and guidelines, builds awareness about wellness and safety, and reports any safety concerns to the Ops ManagerUnderstands and performs all Health and Safety activities as specified in the Manager's Guide to Associate Health and SafetyPlaces orders for individual units, receives goods, processes invoicesEnsures that the company has most current contact information for all associates working in the storeAbility to work shifts during various operating days and hours each week; during opening, during busy day parts, and during closing to monitor restaurant associates' work activities during these different days and timesKnowledge of all applicable federal, state, and local safety, and health standardsThe Hudson Ops Shift Manager I position as described falls under the Fair Labor Standards act as a Non-Exempt positionThe Hudson Ops Shift Manager I position typically reports to the Ops Manager, Assistant General Manager, or General Manager within the assigned locationMinimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:Requires a minimum of 2 years retail store operations, cash handling, and customer service experienceRequires a minimum of 6 months supervisory or lead experience in a retail store environmentRequires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customersDufry, Hudson, and HMSHost are equal opportunity employers and do not discriminate in employment on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy and gender identity), national origin, political affiliation, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, genetic information, age, membership in an employee organization, retaliation, parental status, military service, or other non-merit factors.
