Paralegal - General Liability - Insurance Defense

Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionThe Paralegal provides critical support to attorneys in all phases of litigation and case management. This role requires strong legal drafting skills, familiarity with court procedures, and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload with precision and professionalism. A Paralegal typically support two or more or Attorneys, achieving minimum billable standards.Primary Job DutiesDraft legal memoranda, pleadings, subpoenas, discovery demands and responses, correspondence, and discovery motionsOrganize, chart, and process incoming records and invoicesFollow up on outstanding records via phone, email, and mailPrepare answers and legal correspondenceManage a large caseload while supporting multiple attorneysReview documents for relevance and privilege in preparation for disclosureConduct case law research using Lexis Advance and public access websites to support defense strategiesAssist attorneys in preparing for mediation and trialRetrieve and save documents using the firm’s document management system Key CompetenciesCommunicating - Legal Professionals provide the information required by others in a concise, direct, and unambiguous way. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.RequirementsMinimum 3 years of experience as a practice group paralegalFamiliarity with state courts, including e-filing proceduresExperience in drafting legal documents and managing billing processesProficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook and WordAbility to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a high-volume environmentExperience with Aderant Total Office (ATO) and NetDocs preferredProficiency in Lexis Advance for legal research
