For more information, visit hornblowercorp.com.Position SummaryThe Marine Sales Associate will be instrumental in driving outside sales, and cultivating and maintaining customer relationships, as they sell Hornblower Marine’s equipment (marine engines, generators, control systems, etc.). The role involves traveling to customer sites, showcasing product benefits, and demonstrating both on-site and off the Shipyard’s capabilities and commitment to our clients. The Marine Sales Associate will collaborate closely with other departments to meet client needs and achieve business goals.The ideal candidate will have a proven background in outside sales, previous experience in distribution, industrial and/or heavy equipment, and a knowledge of high-speed diesel engines and other marine equipment. The position will be responsible for the overall direction of sales in the Mid-Atlantic region for our Moteurs Baudouin engines and all other supported brands.Residence in the NY/CT area is preferred for frequent visits to the Bridgeport office; sales territory will be from NY to VA. Salary + commission plan.Duties And ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company goals and expand customer baseIdentify and cultivate relationships with potential clients, including ship owners, operators, and other marine industry stakeholdersMaintain and strengthen relationships with existing marine clients to ensure repeat business and customer satisfactionDevelop iterative targets, strategic sales plans, and goals as needed to achieve monthly KPIsTrack and report on said sales performance metrics, including revenue targets, sales pipelines, and customer satisfactionCollaborate with internal teams, including internal sales, customer service, engineering, and operations to develop comprehensive proposals and bids for clientsPrepare and deliver presentations to clients, highlighting the company’s capabilities, services, and value propositionMaintain the CRM system, make outbound calls, and prioritize long-term client relationships over short-term gainsStay informed about relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in the marine industry ensuring compliance and adherence to quality standardsTravel to project and customer sites within the US Mid-Atlantic states and internationally approximately 75% of the timeRepresent Hornblower Marine and its interests in a professional and expert manner while developing methods to improve the overall professionalism of the territoryAdditional job duties as assigned Requirements & QualificationsMinimum of 3-5 years of experience in the maritime industryExtensive experience in building and maintaining relationships with clients in the maritime sectorStrong understanding of the maritime industry, including relations, trends, and key playersPrevious experience in distribution, industrial and / or heavy equipment, and a knowledge of high speed diesel enginesFamiliarity with shipbuilding, marine engineering, propulsion systems, and other technical aspects of the maritime industryUnderstanding of sales techniquesExperience in negotiating and closing contracts and agreementsWillingness to adapt to changing market conditions, customer preferences, and industry regulations to stay competitive Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information, negotiate contracts and build relationshipsExperience with Word, Excel and organizational documentation file management systemsMust thrive in a fast-paced environmentMust have a valid driver’s licenseMust have a valid US PassportMust be able to board vessels, enter confined spaces with limited visibility and have the ability to climb up and down stairs and/or ladders of varying heights to complete inspectionsMust reside on East Coast, preferably NY/CT area#HornblowerMarineHornblower will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in a manner consistent with fair chance or other applicable laws and regulations.The RESPECT Service System embodies our mission, vision, values and operating principles.
