JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Corporate legal team sits at the center of FOX’s Television, Sports, Entertainment, Technology, Streaming, and Creator Economy businesses, and the world-class facilities and infrastructure crucial to their success, providing legal support to our divisions as we continue to transform FOX through cutting edge technology, operational excellence, and game-changing strategic transactions.The Director, Business and Legal Affairs is integrally involved in the business and legal aspects of FOX Studio Lot operations, including sound stage, production/post-production, commissary, and office facilities operations, as well as services central to supporting these operations (e.g., grip, lighting, wardrobe, transportation, security, catering and events, engineering, and facilities operations) and the operational infrastructure of the FOX Studio Lot. The individual in this position also provides direct in-house legal support for FOX’s global real estate portfolio, security operations, environmental health and safety operations, and crucial sourcing initiatives related to enterprise operations and employee benefits. The Director, Business and Legal Affairs provides advice and counsel, and drafts, negotiates, and analyzes a wide variety of agreements supporting the foregoing.a Snapshot Of Your ResponsibilitiesSupport the day-to-day operations of the FOX Studio Lot by analyzing, drafting and negotiating agreements for stage, production office and location use, equipment and wardrobe rentals, backlot production services, catering and special events, maintenance, repair, and construction projects, and vendor contracts for goods and services related to facilities operation and infrastructureServe as a direct legal point of contact for Global Security, Risk Management, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) teams, ensuring FOX business units, service providers, and third-party FOX Studio Lot occupants operate under appropriate terms and meet corporate safety and risk requirementsAssist in the management of FOX’s global real estate portfolio, including the review of office leases, space licenses, and contracts for buildouts and tenant improvementsCoordinate with Global Sourcing teams to negotiate and finalize procurement agreements for enterprise-wide services, including telecom and corporate travelCollaborate with subject matter experts in Privacy, Data Security, Tax, Risk Management, Employment Legal, HR, Labor, and Finance across matters to ensure that contracts and practices further company objectives and comply with evolving regulatory standardsStreamline the contract lifecycle by managing agreement templates, maintaining naming conventions and version control, and providing rapid-response legal analysis for urgent business needsWhat You Will NeedJuris Doctor degree3-8 years of transactional legal experienceSignificant experience drafting and negotiating a variety of agreements related to business operations, such as for production and office facilities operations, space leasing and licensing, and global sourcing transactions integral to enterprise operationsFamiliarity with project management, including identifying the need for and leading collaboration across internal business units and with an array of subject matter expertsWorking knowledge of intellectual property, privacy, data security, and technology law and ongoing tracking of related developments, issues, and concernsAbility to simultaneously manage multiple projects, often for a wide array of unrelated stakeholders, with shifting priorities and deadlinesAdept at effectively working with clients, peers, and outside parties from a variety of fields, backgrounds, and levelsProven ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders in a clear, actionable mannerAdvanced proficiency using WordExcellent reasoning, verbal, and written communication skillsNICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKERActive member of the California bar; will consider those eligible for Registered In-House Counsel status (Rule 9.46)Experience with DeltaView and iManageReal estate experienceWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. We will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories consistent with applicable law.Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $128,000.00-175,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
